I recently put my name on the TPU volunteer list through the Reserve HRC website. I'm curious if anyone else has used this to volunteer and whether or not you were picked up for a mission.
if your TPU theres a good chance you wont go (your commander still has to bless off on it) thats mostly for irr, ima folks but best of luck if you end up going and watch where you walk

Hm ok thanks Greywolff, that makes sense. I think in this case my unit commander would probably sign off on it. My whole RRC has been picked over for deployments since 911, but then again those weren't volunteers, they were callups. Well who knows, guess time will tell. I've actually been over there already, was called up to active duty in Feb 03 and just got back in Aug. Crazy times.
I think you guys are confusing TPU with IMA.....IMA (Individual Mobilization Augmentee) means you fill an empty slot, not sure what TPU literally means.......but Greywolff is right your comander will have to sign off on it.
If you call your branch you can volunteer to get activated. Your branch can cross level you over to another unit that is deploying and may be understrength. In the event that you are cross leveled over your commander has no say so in releasing you or not, St Louis cuts your orders and your gone. I have see that time and time again out here in recruiting..........

What department in the branch would you call for info on this? I looked all over the Infantry's website and couldn't find a number that looked right.
