i cant get a straight answer from my unit about my bonus i was told takes 3-5 days to get and it is now going on 30 days. if that is how long it takes- then great i just need to know! i have been told to be patient and stop asking and everything has been resubmitted by my UA-again- as of today and to wait. is this right? can anyone help? thanks
There I can't help as much. Bonuses are typically paid 4-6 weeks after submitted.
You've met the qualification of completing IADT (basic and AIT). The things I would check next are that you've been awarded your MOS, and graduated high school (or equivalent).
While this may be done, your records may not reflect it. I can check for you, but I will need a bit of personal information (PM me with your AKO e-mail, or full name and date of birth if you don't know it)
I'm going to assume as you have just recently completed AIT, you are not AGR or a MILTECH.
Online records show you are currently MOS qualified, and you are a high school graduate or equivalent. (I probably wouldn't have mentioned that had I know you were prior service).
The list that shows enlistment bonuses received by DFAS does not include you. However, this list only shows those received on June 18th, so it's quite possible they got it before or after.
I really can't see anything that I think would hold it up (though you should check on your security clearance and APFT just in case).
Side note: You enlisted November 2007 for 6 years. Your ETS is listed in November 2015. This is pretty common, because because someone (don't know who) assumes that all MEPS contracts are NPS 8 year enlistments. Your UA should be able to correct this.
thanks for investigating...i have double checked everything and its all correct but still no bonus!!!!????? how long do you really wait until you start going through your chain of command? shouldnt there be some sort of timeline? thanks again
I graduated AIT Late February of 2006, and recieved my bonus early January 2007. And I'm still unsure as to how I got it finally. Doesn't really help your situation but that's how it goes I suppose. I guess my S1 helped my paperwork eventually.

Really the only thing you can do at this point is follow up with your UA. Somebody ought to know either where your paperwork got lost, or what is holding it up.
just wanted to say i followed up with her AGAIN and she is unsure of who she needs to contact next and will look into it!!!! thats how helpful she has been for the past 6 weeks! thanks for help
i posted before about my bonus and well..still no bonus!! its been about 9 weeks now! so i was told that my "papers" have been given to an E-9 since its taken so long, so he can figure out what happend-that was 10 days ago...is that supposed to make me feel better that he is working on it now???? does anyone know what the problem could be because nobody else can and i dont want to be patient anymore! thanks
I've encountered this problem as a UA with several Soldiers in my unit. As far as why, there seems to be a period of time where various types of bonuses didn't hit the system for automatic payment.
Some advice for the UA. Requied documentation for bonus payments and instructions can be found in USARC PAM 37-1 Appendix D. Usually I fill out and submit a USARC Form 23-R with supporting documentation (contract and any documentation showing you are entitled to a bonus). This can be sent via fax or scan to your unit's pay team.
Please go easy on your UA. A lot of Soldier issues that come up aren't covered in training, and many times we have to do a lot of homework on each individual case.
