I am a 25M E5 (p) active soldier that ets in the beginning of 09, my mos is not well known, I have been doing my research and I finally located a unit that has a spot for my mos. the Problem is I still have 17 months left. I am afraid that if i wait I will loose this opportunity is there any way that I can "i guess transfer" from active to agr or do I have to wait until my ets

It IS possible to transition directly over. You'll need to look over the HRC St Louis webpage for info on the AGR program:

I know it's do-able as one of my former RA NCO's switched (I was NCOIC at a mixed facility). If I remember correctly, she wasn't at ETS, either. You'll need to get with your personnel people and look into it. I apologize that I don't have specific details on the forms and wording.
