I recently enlisted in the US Army reserves as an 88N this past month. I'm a split opt so I will not be attending basic training until June 4th, 2009. I wanted to know if it was at all possible to change my mos to a 38B? I initially wanted 31B but I understand that there are many 31B's in the reserve unit and a position was not available to me at that time. The reason I want to change my mos from 88N to 38B is because I want more of a combat related job. If it is not possible that is fine I will just wait till my enlistment is up and re-enlist in my preferred mos. However if it is possible to change now that would be great. Also I understand 38B's are not direct combat and that is not their main mission it is just something I would prefer more.
