Your thoughts on him and his "iron-fist" leadership.

Who should be his successor?

Ha...it's about time that he resigned...at least he's not in office anymore and now the "expendable" soldiers of the US Army don't have to worry about any of his "brilliant" decisions. Just my 2 cents Smiler

Considering the position and the demands of that office he did as well as he could.

He may have been overstepping his bounds with the intelligence community. Trying to do too much with resources that are not in his lane.

He may have been a much better Secretary of War than Secretary of Defense.

Also, by shortchanging the number of "boots on the ground" in Iraq when combat veterans (namely General Shinseki) said that at least 200,000 Soldiers were needed, may have extended our stay in Iraq.

Lets see who who's responsible for configuring the intelligence community to what it was before the Iraq War?

Oh, that's right it was Bill Clinton who appointed then CIA director George Tenet as head of intelligence prior to the Iraq War.

I can go further on this one.
