I know this is out of the subject, but can anyone tell me if the Rosetta Stone Language Test is army education or civilian education? I'm trying to get some promotion points for my E6.
I am not sure, but I remember having to turn in a copy of my college transcripts in order for them to calculate the civilian ed.
I don't know if it is even able to be trasnferred into military education either, but would be interested in hearing from anyone that has about how they went about it.
Was that the Rosetta Stone that was offered for free by the Army? I saw a commericial for their products on TV the other night.

Yes. It's free. All you need is your AKO account. Actually I just finished the Tagalog Language. I'm just waiting for my certificates so i could turn them in for promotion points. I maxed out my military education on my 3355 so I'm hoping they put the Rosetta Stone on my Civilian Education.
The Rosetta Stone Courses taken through Army eLearning Skillport are not valid for civilian education points. You can only receive credit under military education, like correspondence courses (5 hours = 1 point).
If you want to max your civilian ed out quickly you can always do Marine correspondence courses. Most schools will transfer them to college credit. you can call 1800 mciusmc to register then go to there website to choose the course you want, from past experience go to the school first and see if they have a list of courses that transfer. I wasted a little time doing this. Remember you will need a E6 or higher to sign the test. On last thing make sure the course is ace accredit, which is on the website. Hope this will help you to max your points out. One last thing dont think you will get a degree from this they only transfer to electives Dang those people LOL

Take as many as you can. They will be awarded as military ed points. If you are in a language coded MOS, you arent awarded anything, therefore, you can convert them to civillian education points.

As a 97E who has completed RS courses, I am going to have to disagree unless you show me somewhere otherwise.

Is this for real? Anyone else agree/disagree?

Yes, WifiWarrior, the rosetta stone is only could to help you max out your military education. There actually pretty cool, and quick courses that help you learn another language. No they don't show up on your ERB(Sorry), but as long as you have completed a unit and recieved the certificate of completion, they go on your Atrrs transcripts, and it looks pretty good when you have a long list of them that you have completed, and also when your going to the promotion board. Just put your Artrrs transcript with your promotion packet, so when the board members look at it, they'll be amazed to see that a soldier has taken the time to actually complete them. I told a lot of my soldiers about the Rosetta Stone, it's quick and a easy way to max out Military Ed.
