Is it possible to be addicted to sleep? I know most people (especially military) would say no the person is just lazy, so if that is your answer to this question, I've already heard it. I would like to know is there any documented diagnosis of sleep addiction, like sleep is someone's crack, or heroin. I ask this because I think I may be addicted to sleep.

I had a problem a few years ago where I was sleeping all the time. I would go to school and sleep come home and sleep until work and sleep all night. My mom made me go to the doctor and I found out that I had sleep apnea. Which is basically you are asleep but for reasons you might wake up a few seconds here and there and not know it. In my case I went to a sleep lab and was hooked up to all different kinds of machines and had to sleep. The result was that I would wake up like 120 times in a night for a few seconds here and there. Let me ask you this have you been told that you are a loud snorer or make some other noises in your sleep. Also have you had your tonsels taken out in your youth. Because there are a lot of factors that come into play with sleep apnea. In my case I had enlarged tonsols and couln't breath when I layed certain ways. Anyway long story short get checked out by a doctor because you might have a medical condition. Hope this helps a little.

check to see if you have a condition known as narcolepsy - it sounds like you may, and there is medication to help that condition

Would being diagnosed with sleep apnea bar you from any schools? I'm terrified of sick call because you never know what might keep you out of Ranger school or the Q course.

Have you ever considered it may be your diet or how much exercise you get? I don't think you can be addicted to sleep. You may just be tired all the time. Ask a doctor. That's the best advice you can get from someone on here.
