I've been preparing for the promotion board (SSG)since January 2008. I was first told that I will be attending the April 2008 board. Then it changed to the May 2008 board. Finally it would be the June 2008 board. Now I don't even know. What really bothers me that I'm not the only Soldier who's career has been put on hold. I work for an NCO Academy, and we have a new Commandant. Well he has never conducted a board since he arrived to the Unit last November. Anyway everyone is afraid to request this board and they keep pushing it up, as if it did'nt matter to them. What can I do to help these Soldier's to include myself. We are all great Soldiers. Whatever happen to "all Soldiers are entitle to outstanding leadership?"

Very true. I was told that for my SGT board over 2 years ago, oh next month, well sorry maybe next month. If your in a zone I understand that you have to be counseled on why they will not send you. I am once again in a zone of so they tell me but I'm nto all that worried right now about a board I am looking at deploying and getting my training I need. I will put my nose int he book as soon as they tell me though!!

Good luck when you do go to the board!!!

Thanks for your responce. Good luck to you too. I'm actually on the zone and have not been counsel on why not. I'm not perfect but there isn't anything I can be negatively counseled on, that is the confusing part of it. I have always taken care my Soldiers, needless to say that 90 % of then are NCOs. Now when I see a leadership that have no regards to their Soldiers improvement, morale, motivation...etc...makes me wonder if I should just do my time and ETS because everything seems to be double standards, my point of view.

sometimes u have to go above and beyond your squad leader platoon sgt and take it to the top.
I believe in whatever u try to do there is always a pathway to get to what we need.

All soldiers are entitled to outstanding leadership; I will provide that leadership.
