A retention NCO slot is open in my unit, as the soldier that currently holds it is getting commissions. Some of the reasons I want it is because it is an easy promotion for me from an e5 to an e6, and that I am very disciplined and don't mess around when I have things that need to be done. I think I will get the position, but there are a couple other people that want it, and they are holding a board at my unit. I talked to my 1SG and she said it will be informal, and retention specific, like 'what will you contribute as a retention nco?' and 'why do you want this position?' Does anyone have any more specific questions or topics I should zone in on other than the ones mentioned above? Thanks again!
