ok, so here in iraq, and i normally do not have a problem with civilians... however, when you walk into the dfac(which is supposed to be one of the largest in iraq) and you can even sit down because the tables are filled with civilians, i find this a problem. they have a vehicle for every 4 of them or so, and im not talking about some pos, im talking about 2008 model vehicles. they do the job that we are "supposed" to be doing and so my question is what exactly are we(as in a support bn) doing here? when you sit down for a smoke all you hear from the civilians is how they should be making more than the 120,000 a year that they are making... can someone make some sense of this and please enlighten me?

Well in all honesty. I am going to be a player hater. I want a nice vehicle to and my own room. And 120,000 a month won't be bad. I ETS in 2011 if there still doing contracting I may take it to the house.

I've done the OIF w/o civilians and the latter deployment back there with a butt load of civilians and I totally agree that they have no room to complain. BOOKS!

Yeah I definitely hate civilians too!! When I was in Iraq, I was the Military Oversight in the DFAC. The civilians think they run shop but it's not even like that. I remember one civilian was cursing at me (needless to say it took every ounce of energy to keep my composure and remain tactful) because he didn't want to remove his headgear. The NEXT DAY he was fired and on his way back to the states. NO JOKE. They are replaceable because so many people want the jobs they have. So if they give you a hard time, ask for their MILITARY supervisors name and contact number. That will shut them up real quick. GUARANTEED!!
