Here's a couple of questions that I know, or thought I knew about, but want more clarification on it. Upon completing the BEAR Program you have up to 90 days to re-enlist correct? If true, then here's a situation that I would like to be explain if possible. My school date for 63B was from Mar-Jul 18. The CC told me that it was a no go because my 6 year mark is JUL 19 and that I would have to re-enlist the same day as graduating so I had to change my school date. Now my school date is from JUL-OCT. Not understanding that one. Situation number 2. School date begins in JUL and we are "supposed" to deploy in August, haven't gotten a stone cold date yet though. My 1sg and PSG told me that the BEAR Program is NOT exempt from stop loss. The same CC told me that the BEAR Program IS exempt, and I know I have read it elsewhere as well. Can I get more clarification on these situations please? Thank you for future input.

As far as the exmption from SL for BEAR Program participants: MILPER Message 06-232, paragraph 8 states that Soldiers in the following categories are exempt from SL/SM. It lists numerous exceptions, specifically 8O(the letter O, not zero) identifies enlisted Soldiers participating in the BEAR Program as being exempt from SL/SM.
Now for the other portion of your question--it sounds like you needed to reenlist on that date or you would have aged out of the "A" zone, so it sounds odd that your class dates got shifted to push you further into the "B" zone. Without specifics from you, though, I can only speculate. What MOS are going into? What's your BASD? Have you received an SRB previously?

Currently 21B reclassing to 63B. BASD is 02JUL19 and I received an erroneus bonus in the A zone.

Was given a bonus when the re-enlistment didn't put me into the next zone. Hooray CC that don't know their job, haha. Big Grin

I understand your frustration, but until you know EVERYTHING about your job and 75% of 10 other jobs, these comments are out of line.

Seems your Career Counselor shifted your school to and has you reenlisting in the B Zone now. Simply explain that you didn't get an A Zone (that you it was erroneous and never paid) and that you'll need the last school date or earlier.

You CAN reenlist the day you graduate; it'll just tak a little more coordination.

It was a joke hence the laugh and smiley face Big Grin Anyways. I received the bonus, it was the erroneous bonus that I posted a little over a year ago. I don't want to reenlist the day I graduate but the day of graduation for the Mar-Jul class was the 18th, a day before my 6 year mark. Don't understand why he had me pick another school date though. A little late now, I was just inquiring about it.

If you received the bonus, why do you say it was erroneous?

So, you received the A Zone bonus already (if I read you correctly). Your Career Counselor did the right thing by changing your school dates because he/she made sure you would graduate AFTER you'd crossed into the B Zone. Again, this is the correct thing to do ... so I guess you're Career Counselor knows their job.

Alright, there seems to be some misinformation here so I'll clarify. The CC from Riley was good, he knows his job and all that, he did the right thing with all of the stuff I just had a question as to why the school would've been pushed back further into the B zone if I had up to 90 days from graduation of the course to reenlist. The CC I had from 4 years ago at Polk was the one that messed up. I received a bonus that didn't put me into the next zone and from what my understanding, and what you said last year, Reenlistment, is not supposed to happen. I'm at school right now but will be back next week so if I have anymore questions I'll be sure to give you a call, Riley CC.

Got it. The Career Counselor messed up by not getting your new ETS past the 6 year mark ... instead of HRC saying too bad, seems they wanted to make good on the Career Counselor's error and not make you and/or your family suffer because of it. The fact is, you receive the A Zone bonus. That issue is now moot.

This is to ensure you wouldn't be able to reenlist in the A Zone (even though you wouldn't). There was a day in their that you could have reenlisted and by moving your class dates, this took away that chance.
