My understanding of the BEAR program as of MILPER Message 09-147 that I should be able to get W1 school. I am a 68W3P, and have already submitted the W1 packet to the recruiter on Bragg. The problem is the class dates are all reserved, so I will be waiting awhile. The solution is the BEAR program. My BN career counselor says I will have to reup for it after 1 Oct. I think he is wrong. Can someone out there please explain this to me? Thanks,

I am not sure why you would have to wait. Unless has something to do with the grade requirement for BEAR. Is SSG on the BEAR for that ASI? If it is I am pretty sure you should be able to do now. That is what the BEAR is, an immediate need. 1 OCT is the new FY for the NEW Retention program for Fy10.
