I'm a 19D E-5 with 3 years in. I'm still on my first contract. I'm looking to use the BEAR program to get into 37F PSYOP. From what I understand I extend my contract to 2 years after I graduate from 37F AIT then I have 90 days to reup. My question is with 37F having a DLI requirement after AIT and airborne will I be able to reup after AIT or do I have to wait until I graduate DLI?

If I remember correctly (AR will chime in but this will have to suffice in the meantime), the people that went to DLI as 97E when they were still language dependent had to wait until DLI graduation because they weren't fully MOS qualified until they received the L identifier.

That being said, you will be locked into your BEAR bonus when you extend. So if the bonus drops you will still be locked into whatever you got when you extended. And if it goes up you will get that instead. But you won't lose money.
