for the 97E course? I have been sitting around pacing for about three months waiting on school seats to open up for the BEAR program.

I realize that in critically short MOS's it is imperative for slots to go to IET soldiers, however, I was under the assumption that the MOS was CRITICALLY SHORT in the NCO ranks. If they are so short, why don't they open up the seats to "other than special recruiting program" volunteers so that they may fill the ranks?

Right now, 97E and 37F are the only two MOS's I would like to do in the BEAR program. 37F is an application/accessions process and I can do it at any time, however, I am desiring 97E. I would just like to know, "what gives with the class dates?"

[UPDATE: I am aware of the June dates, but my DEROS is June 08, so they don't suit me unless I could get a drop, but my CC says a drop is no way possible. Hmmmm..... [scratches head and groans].

After the "Special Recruiting Program" seats are filled, you'll see more class seats available. If you want this bad enough (and it seems you do), you'll get it in a few months.

ditto on 13F seats...

They have began releasing dates for '08. I got an August seat and another guy got a May seat.
