Is it possible to take advantage of the bear program if the MOS i'm looking to move to (46Q) is listed for SGT-SSG and I am a SPC(P)

I am pretty certain there are no waivers for the BEAR as they are specifically targeting the grades listed in the message, as that is what they are short on. Now, I know this doesnt make any sense, but hey this is the Army.

I had the same discussion with the EOD recruiters. BEAR message says something like SPC - SPC(p). I said so what happens if I get my P, and since I am in a combat arms MOS with low points, get promoted right before or right after arriving at school? I lose the BEAR bonus right? He said yes! I asked well isnt a SPC(p) the same in theory as a SGT? do they expect you to remain promotable forever? He said in fact they do!

Sounds like a sneaky way to get out of paying some bonus cash to me. Here go into the BEAR....you can even maintain your P status (but when u get promoted heheheheh.... :-()!
