I joined the bear program and extended to cover the two years required after an EOD re-class planning to reenlist soon after. I graduate in August but will be awarded the MOS a few weeks prior, burning up some of my 90 day window. I want to go to back to Germany but will have orders before I am allowed to reenlist. How do I work it so I can go straight to Germany. Can I still get a bonus with station of choice?

If you are on assignment instructions you can only reenlist for Option 1, Regular Army Reenlistment Option. If you decline your assignment instructions, you will be removed from the BEAR Program.

That was what I was told but it seems wasteful to send me to a unit so I can reenlist for station of choice when I get there. Is there any way to avoid that?

Prior to being placed on assignment instructions, you may want to talk with your Assignment Manager at HRC to request a specific location.

I'm currently station with 3rdCorp, ft Hood and re class to 25U(AIT sept-feb09). ASK assignment said 1stCav ft Hood. and Tx again! I know that BEAR program, you'll be assign to wherever the Army needed you most. But with some LUCK, any chance I can request a different PCS, beside TX.? And HOW?

The majority of BEAR Soldiers that I have worked up and extended, have had a follow on assignment prior to attending the school seat. If you have not received a follow on within 90 days of attending the class, get with your servicing CC to request a follow on. This is the way that I have processed the BEAR program. This is the time to let your CC know where you would LIKE to go, not a promise just an idea that your new branch can work with.

I highly doubt that you are going to be given orders to one place and then PCS'd to Germany regardless of reenlistment. You are entering a critical MOS and their needs far outweigh your wants. You may get lucky and come up on orders or you may have to wait a bit. Since you have a bit until you graduate and get your badge, you will want to do as you have already been told and contact the branch manager very soon. They already have an idea where they need you. Last I heard, new techs were getting orders 3 months out and were only changed if the tech got "rolled".

1. Armyreup, my CC said to see him again 90days prior to my report date(Jun20th) so he can shoot a request to more specific PCS or different post. But as I was told by his other colleague, than more likely its not gonna happened. Whats the possibility of that happening?
2. WonderTwin, I already emailed the Branch Mng.(25U)and he said that if my Assg. Satisfaction Key said that I'm coming to FtHood that I'm stock with it and a very slim chance to reassign again. And he also said that the Reclass Brn Mng handle my case, not him. Who is this Reclass Mng. and hos can I contact them?

yes, for four dream list but you already know how thats work! CA., MA., HI., and Euro- yet, I got TX.
this is my first reenlistment, and the ASK web site, is that where you received your PCS orders? Or do I have to wait for an official order from my email?
