Can anybody explain to me the difference between Bear program & regular re-enlistment with change of mos option. I checked the MILPER messages regarding bonuses and mos listing. It seemed the bonuses were identical across the board: if anything bear bonuses were bigger.

What about the period of reenlistment: does bear allow shorter reenlistment periods?

I know bear program allows trasnfer to only critical shortage mos, but I believe that is true even in the case of normal re-enlistment.

Also can anybody explain why there are no combat mos in the critical shortage list. Can I opt to be an infantryman or tanker or scout through the Bear program?

BEAR Program = Changing your MOS and receive a bonus for changing your MOS.

Option 3, Army Training Reenlistment Option = Changing your MOS (NO BONUS)

Reenlistment periods don't change. Minimum reenlistment is 3 years either way.
