I am thinking of reclassing to 25U and what I need to know is when I go to school what will my wife do. Will she stay in Japan where I am station now or will I find out my next duty station move her there then attend school or send her stateside to live where her family is?

If anybody has any past experience please let me know Thanks

she will have to stay in Japan... you might want to move home...cuz u will get orders after completion of school and then the military will pay you for the move. being a 25 U and going thru the school years ago its kinda long and you might want her there alone.

You will learn of your new assignment about 60 days before your AIT date.

I am also going 25U and I want to know what they are doing with my family while I am in school. I noticed the moderator said I will receive orders 60 days before my AIT date but does that mean my family will go to my next assignment first?

well im going to re-class in iraq and when i get done with that ill go to ait and im trying to get an extra schooling after that(ASI M6 extra medic training). now my question is will my wife and kids go with me to ait and a asi. or will they only be able to be with me after ait. ait is about 14 weeks and the asi is about one year.

The ASI is not guaranteed, but to answer your question ...

Your family will not be authorized to move to your AIT because it is less than 20-weeks.

If you get the ASI (and it's 20 or more weeks) you're family may be authorized a PCS.
