I meet all the qualifications for 97E and the BEAR program but when my retention NCO sent the hot link or whatever it's called they couldn't get me a school date so I couldn't do it. I am coming up on 8 years and have gotten deployment orders since then. I will be at over 9 years when I come back and past my ETS. I want to do this program but it doesn't seem like it will be possible. My DEROS is 1 Jan 08 and my ETS is that August. What can I do?

You need to be more specific as to the exact problem. Maybe I can help at that point. I am a 97E getting ready to go to the schoolhouse and teach so maybe I'll see you some day.

97E I thank you for your offer to help. I am just wondering when there will be a school date for the new 35M in 08. I was told that there weren't any class dates past the june and august class. If you can help thanks a lot. This SGT Strife is some punk that has nothing better to do but act as a know it all. I'm suprised he can spell stupidity. Thanks man. Anyhow, what rank are you? How are you trying to reclass in? I know they need people pretty bad but they are also really backed up due to lack of instructors there (hence my PCS). Where are you located? What is your MOS (19K maybe)?

If you are on Hood I can probably give you someone to contact. If not, I can't imagine why they can't give you a definitive class date...or let you reup and then get a class date later.

Yeah I hear ya. I am a SSG and am trying to reclass using the BEAR program. I meet all the qualifications but they can't get me a class date in 08. I am stationed in Germany right now but I'm actually in Georgia going to M-ANCOC. I am a tanker yes. Thanks for your help.

There are now '08 class dates for 97E. I just got an August class date and another guy inmy unit got a May class date. Have your Reenlistment NCO resend your hotline.
