I am a 92A and working on reclassing to 21P. I just passed their test a few weeks ago (very demanding and tough). I am looking at the BEAR program list and see the Charlie zone for SGT as "0". Would I still be able to switch to this MOS?

As far as I know, you will definitely be able to reclass. I am also reclassing 21P (Im a SPC). Im starting the August class. I think the zone is showing at 0 because there are no E4's and below in the MOS.

My experience was pretty smooth. I had orders in hand about a month after submitting my packet. You already got passed the hard part by passing the test, now just get your packet together (if you havent already) and get it to them. For best results, submit the official packet through your chain of command, and then fax a copy directly to the school. The civilians and NCO's there are really helpful, if you need anything just call them and they will square you away.

Also, theres a member on this forum named 21P SSG. He's an instructor at the school. He is very helpful and he answered a few questions for me while I was applying, so you can look him up and shoot him any questions, or like I said, just call the school.

I wish! I had just reuped in Iraq last year, so I couldnt get a bonus or do the BEAR program. Its cool, though. Im happy just with the getting the reclass.

yeah. I understand all the way. you'll reap so much benefits with this mos. I told my reenlistment NCO to not even sweat it about me missing out on a bonus. what was your previous MOS?

I'm assuming you are a SGT and over 10 years active service.

This means you cannot participate in the BEAR Program. You'll have to complete an actual reclassification pakcet; which I'm sure you're on the right track already.

I do have a little more than 10 years of active service. My 92A mos has N/N for in/out (E5) and 21P has Y/N also. I will complete my package tomorrow. I hope everything will be smooth.I don't know how HRC will decide. What do you think? Thanks

From what I was told, as long as you meet the qualifications and submit a complete packet, you're good to go. This is a DA Board selected school, but I don't think its competitive to the point where they turn away qualified applicants. I think you'll be fine.
