Any body know if they have training vacancies for 25P now? I know they recently came out with the new message and 25P is still on it, but is it able to be submitted for now... i have been waiting for that damn job to open back up for a year now...

I am currently a 25L stationed in Naples, Italy. I want to reclass into the BEAR for 25P. My DEROS is Feb 09. The class for the 4th QTR 08 is open. Would I have to submint a curtailment prior to accepting this school date, or is this covered by the BEAR program. The reason I am asking becuase getting a response back from DA could be time consuming. Thanks.

AR 601-280, Chapter 6:
Soldiers serving in an overseas area must be within 24 months of normal tour completion at time of application.

The BEAR Program will not shorten your normal overseas tour. Additionally, TDY and return is not available for Soldiers serviing in an overseas area.

Okay so I am within 13 months of my DEROS. The school date is prior to my DEROS. Am I eligeable to attend the school date for Sep 08? Would I have to process a curtailment up to DA because anything over 60 days needs to go there. Or do I have to get a school date after my DEROS? Thanks

You may be able to get a curtailmet approved, but most likely, you'll get a school date after your DEROS.

HRC can go either way.
