im a initial term soldier with 24 months left on my contract can i get into the bear program when my in/out calls are y/n for spc's. any help is appreciated.
Ok I have a question regarding What and where I can go. I am a spc 3 years+ as a 44b (welder) in an avim unit. I know there is a n/y for my rank and my mos is going to be part of the 44e traning some time in the next few years. so I will be part of the forced re-class. I like the aviation side of the house and want to go cav is there any air cav oppings that I can re-class into. I am deploying in nov this year to iraq so I will not be able to train till after word. any help is welcomed!

I'm a 31B with an ASI Z-6 deployed to Iraq. My window is coming up soon and would like to know were i can look to see if I can get out of my MOS and get in to a new job field. I'm a SGT and looking to go to the board after R&R. How hard would it be to change my MOS.
I am a mid career soldier. My current MOS is 21V and I am trying to enter into the Bear program to reclass into 15J.
In Milper message 09-148 dated Dec 09 it states the following: B. TO BE AUTHORIZED RECLASSIFICATION OUT OF CURRENT PMOS THERE MUST BE "Y" UNDER THE OUT CALL COLUMN AT THE CURRENT GRADE. C. TO BE AUTHORIZED RECLASSIFICATION FOR A NEW MOS THERE MUST BE "Y" UNDER THE IN COLUMN AT THE CURRENT GRADE
In Milper message 09-147 dated Sep 09 it states "B. SOLDIERS IN THE RANK OF PFC THRU SSG MUST SHOW N/N OR N/Y AT THEIR CURRENT RANK AND PMOS AS SHOWN IN THE CURRENT IN/OUT CALL MILPER MESSAGE. AS AN EXCEPTION, SOLDIERS IN THE RANK OF SFC MAY REQUEST ENTRY INTO CMF 18. SOLDIERS MAY REQUEST ENTRY INTO THE BEAR PROGRAM IN CMF 18, MOS 21P, 35L, 37F, 38B, AND 89D, REGARDLESS OF THE IN/OUT CALLS FOR CURRENT PMOS."
I interpret this as contradictory. I would like to know if one overpowers the other? My Career Counselor told me that because I am a Mid-Career soldier that I cannot use the Bear program at this time. I need help with one, because I read understand differently. It is almost like the Bear message says something different than the In/Out message.

N/N means balanced. N/Y means overstrength. The BEAR message overrides the In/Out calls as long as you are requesting reclassification into an MOS in the BEAR message.
