I have been trying to go through the Bear program to re-class to 35L since last year October at my last duty station, but was unable to do so at the time because I did not have a TS clearence. I had put in for one and while waiting for it to go through I PCS'd to another duty station. After a few months of being at the new duty station my TS got approved. Then the unit here had fell under Stop Loss/Stop Movement in July09. My TS had gone through a month after the SL/SM and was trying to get into the BEAR for re-class into 35L. I was then told that since the SL/SM had gone into effect that I was not going to be able to go through the BEAR until we got back from Deployment around MAR2011. We are leaving in 2010. I was also told that if I had started putting in for the BEAR prior to the SL/SM then I would have been good to go. If I wait until we get back then it will end up being around 2 1/2 years before I do the BEAR. Could someone shed some light on this subject because I am confused by what I am being told (with no evidence in black and white)compared to what I have read in the MILPER and BEAR Mess which from what I gather is saying that pesonnel who go through the BEAR Program are Exempt from SL/SM. The unit I am in are only under the Stop Movement portion of the SL/SM. I feel like I'm being blown some smoke in my face to see if I'll buy what is being said and then end up getting screwed in the end by find out the I could already gone through the program. I really need to get out of the MOS that I'm in. -I am within the 2 years for re-enlistment -Been in 9 years this October -Have more than 100+ days before estimated D-date -Being told that there is no class seat for 35L until 2011 -Need info for BEAR into 35L while on Stop Move and not on Stop Loss -Need contacts for personnel that could help with this if I'm being steered in the wrong direction

Typically units are not stop-loss/stop-move until 120-90 days out from deployment, depending on the orders. I don't see why you would be sl/sm now if you aren't deploying until 2011.
Typically, you are required to be on station for one year prior to being able to PCS though.

There's no class seat until 2012? I'm curious where you heard this from. I'm getting ready for my interview with an agent and I'd honestly be somewhat pissed if I had to wait that long for a school date.
