I am a PFC, 14T, BASD 4Jan2007, ETS 3January2010. I am currently deployed to Bahrain and we do not have a Career Counselor or Retention NCO here. I wanted to enroll in the BEAR Program (My In/Out is N/N). But my 90 day window hit 5 days ago. Is there anything I can do to re-up even without BEAR?

Sorry, I dunno. I know you have to get a wiaver to re-up now though.

You could look for the Signal unit on base: perhaps part of the 54th or 25th Signal Battalions, or 160th Signal Bde.
--They have career counselors used to helping Soldiers on other bases. (ie doing all the work (and paperwork) via phone/email.)

I would look at other units, your S-1 should even help you get ahold of any unit that has someone there for retention and or career counseling.

Well the issue was that I didn't have anyone here to help me out, but we're redeploying in 5 days, so I will have all the help I need, but I just wanted to know if it was still an option for me to consider.

Thanks for any advice.

Sorry I didn't catch this thread earlier. No matter where you are in the world, someone can help and someone should have helped you. With or without a unit Retention NCO, someone should have put you in contact with a Career Counselor. The closest to Bahrain would have probably been Kuwait, even your home station can help. Email, DSN, whatever it takes to take care of a Soldier; this should have been done. Hopefully you get back to your home station and get in contact with a Career Counselor ASAP!
