I have a question about the process of extending under the BEAR program. On whom am I waiting, the Career Counselor or the school's NCO, to get a slot for a school date? I am a SGT(P), 92A, with a BASD of 19950307, a DEROS of 20051115, and an ETS of 20091101. I am trying to reclass to 35F and have been working on it since November, but I seem to be running into dead ends and I just want to ensure that I am being proactive in this situation.

I'm sorry about that, it's been a long day. My DEROS is 20081115. I was trying to go 92Y earlier, but was told that there were no more school slots that would ensure that I finish before my 14 year mark.

Does anyone know about 92y school dates. As I had said earlier, I m just waiting until April to get in my window to extend for that MOS in the BEAR program. I was hoping to get a school date soon after that.
Also, since my retention NCO is telling me that he is waiting for a response from the schools NCO, what do you suggest that I do next to proceed along. I am in Belgium and my Battalion HQs is in one location in Germany and the Career Counselor is in another location in Germany.

Also, if you're talking with a Reenlistment NCO (a Retention NCO is the unit's 1SG/CSM), than you'll need to get your Career Counselor's email address and talk with him/her directly.
Same infomation as the beginning, I am a SGT(P), 92A, with a BASD of 19950307 and an ETS of 20091101, with only a change to the DEROS, it has been adjusted to 20080801 in hopes to be able to get an earlier class date for 35F. So today, I get a call from the Career Counselor and now there's ANOTHER problem. Now the earliest class date for 35F is November, which will put me finishing up in April (one month too late for the BEAR program). The CC says that he can send up the request as a request for reclass only, no BEAR program. Is this possible? If it is and there is no bonus, but I can reclass out of this MOS, then so be it. The bonus would be just that, a bonus. I just want to ensure that I am working on moving up and out of this MOS and not just waiting by. The only reason that I ask is that I have been working on this since November 2007 and there seems to be one problem after another.

So today, I call the Career Counselor and now he says that the reply came back and the answer for just a regular reclass was no. So is this the final call or is there anything that I can do to change my job and continue in the Army?
