Recruiters do not have anything to do with the BEAR Program. The BEAR Program allows eligible Soldiers an opportunity to extend their enlistment for formal retraining into a shortage MOS that is presently in the SRB Program and, upon completion of retraining, to be awarded the new PMOS, reenlist, and receive an SRB in the newly awarded PMOS. Your GT score (or line scores) comes into play when being qualified for the MOS itself, not for entry into the BEAR Program. If you're extending for the BEAR Program, your branch cannot stop this action if your MOS is balanced or overstrength.
