I have a question. Do I have to take the DLAB test if I already know a foreign language. I clept out of a language in college. I was wondering if this counted for anything. My recruiter doesnt know. he didnt even know what a DLab test was. Any help would be appreciated it. Thanks
You do not need to take the DLAP if you are already fluent in another language. The CLEP test won't count for anything though. You will need to get your recruiter to contact either MEPS or the nearest military installation so that you can take a DLPT test in your target language. If you have a high enough DLPT score you don't need the DLAB and skip the language portion of MOS training.
I'll look for the reg, I'm a 37F and there were several SM who knew another language, they just took the DLPT and skipped the whole language school segment of the training pipeline.
how long is training for this mos? I am considering it and I would like to know what to expect. I hear its 11-15 weeks AIT, 3 airborne, and 4-6 months language training. IS this true? I am a non prior enlisted.
