So I joined on Jan. 10th 2008 and went through BCT during the summer. While there, two of my Drill Sergeants were Cavalry Scouts, and that really made me want to attempt to be able to get that MOS again.

During my initial MEPs run through they told me I was color blind and that I couldn't get 19D as my MOS. I'm National Guard, but I was talking with a Regular Army recruiter and he said that I could get checked by a civilian doctor and the military would accept that. I'm pretty sure I can pass the FALANT test if given the chance, but even if I don't, I figured it was worth a try to get the MOS that I wanted in the first place. Is this true, or is it just a Regular Army recruiter messing with a Guardsman? I'd ask my recruiter, but he's really hard to get in contact with and he probably wouldn't know anyway.

Thanks and God bless.
