Currenly a 68W, its okay but not as fulfilling as i want it to. In my previous civilian life i was a Vet. Tech for 15 years and miss it dearly. I'm considering reenlisting and changing my MOS to 68T. Does anyone know with my previous experience if theres a way to "jump start" the course, the way current EMT-B's do the 68W course. Thanks

FLYC72, this may help...
Here is some information that may be useful. The first link is for general idea of the Corp itself. Alot of the links are locked and only for authorized personnel, but has some value. http://www.veterinaryservice.army.mil/index.html

The second link has the colleges that have educational opportunities of varying types. (Veterinary Medicine has many sub-categories) * Be aware that the music on the webpage is rather, shall we say.... corny. https://vets.amedd.army.mil/91T/index.html

If you are interested in the Commisionned Officer route, this information is handy. http://www.goarmy.com/amedd/vet/index.jsp

This is the best and most accurate video on what we do. http://www.1800goguard.com/training/description.php?mos_code=68T

If you have any questions feel free to email me.

P.S. To answer your question, From my understanding, you may be able to skip 68T school, although I don't have exact specifics. Call the school house (68T) for more info, or maybe some other Vet Techs on this site may know.

Thanks LawDog for the info. You or anyone else out there wouldn't know if the 68T course certifies you in all states or just military or Texas. For example the state of NC you have to be certified, which requires a 2 year assoc. degree, to be a technician veruses assistant. I just don't want to go threw alot of the same training twice.
