I'm a reservist member who just returned from AIT. I've already in-processed with my unit and my first drill weekend is THIS coming weekend.
When I went to in-process, I asked our Unit Administrator what needs to get done to get the bonus under way and his reply was "you'll have to talk to your recruiter."
What's the process (MOS orders?) necessary to get the bonus paid. Who needs what paperwork and where do they have to send it?
Also.. I took my own mode of transportation from AIT home and now I have to fill out the reimbursement paper. Any insight into that would be appreciated!
It's automatic, there is no bonus papers to file, at least not on your end anyway. Once you graduated from AIT the process began, (at least that's the way it was about 6 years ago in my unit) but on the downside, your UA should be able to tell you that information and let you know what's up, ask to see your S-1, he/she should be slightly more squared away and be able to tell you the ins and outs of DFAS.
Your S-1 should be able to get you the paperwork for your travel pay as well. Good Luck!
