HOW CAN YOU CHECK THE STATUS OF YOUR BONUS WITHOUT WAITING 30 DAYS. PEOPLE WHO HAVE REENLISTED AFTER ME HAS GOTTEN THERE BONUS. IS THERE ANY WAY TO CHECK THE STATUS WITHOUT ANYONE ANNOYING YOU ABOUT THE 30 DAYS? JUST WANT TO KNOW IF IT WAS SUBMITTED AND PROCESSED WITH FINANCE.
If you're stationed at Fort Irwin, you're bonus appeared to have been kicked back from DFAS for some reason (couldn't see the reason). Whatever the reason was, your bonus was resent on 30 Nov 07 so you should be getting it in a few days.
Don't know the reason it was in the first place. Go see your actual Career Counselor (not a unit Reenlistment NCO) to find out why it hasn't been paid yet.
About Finance, they are completely out of the bonus cycle so the only one that can help is your servicing Career Counselor.
While Finance does not input the Bonus, if for reason's being it doesn't go through they can make a case and forward it to DFAS. Most of the time we will tell you to go back to retention and have them check in RETAIN to ensure it was input correctly. Finance will submit a case on case-by-case basis but other than that we don't touch..

I'm not sure which unit you are in, but most battalions/brigades/regiments have Career Counselor's (with a badge on their right breast pocket) assigned.
my career counselor was the one who reenlisted me. He told me today that he can't check into it until after 30 days. What doesn't make sense is that somehow you could get these answers yet he can't. What he told me today was that if it got resubmitted 30 Nov 07, then it will be another 8 working days before i see it. Mr Career counselor from ft. mcpherson, ga, i just want to say thank you for everything. You have helped me more than my career counselor has. his concern isn't my bonus, it was his quota. Though i kind of sound selfish about the bonus, it's the holiday season and its the most crucial time to start preparing. lol.

It's my pleasure.
Your Career Counselor doesn't really have a quote like a recruiter does, so he concern should be on your getting your bonus. Sometimes, if it's a newer Career Counselor, the knowledge base isn't quite there yet. With time, training and experience, he'll get better.
I would just ask you not to spread negative feeling's toward your Career Counselor of your unit's retention program.
