I am in the Arizona Army National Guard and have not received my first 1/2 of my reelistment bonus that I signed up for when I was overseas My reenlistment date was June 27th of this year, and my enlistment bonus is $15,000 for 6 years. My command is telling me that their computer say that it says "overdue" on it for my bonuses. I also have a second 1/2 of a bonus that is due to me for a 3-year enlistment, again the computers say overdue. My command doesn't call because they don't feel like getting the run around and I have tried to call them too, it does no good... How do I go about getting what is mine>
If I remember right (from the same situation the 2nd time I re-enlisted), you might have to wait until the beginning of the fiscal year to receive your bonus. Being that your re-up date is kind of close to the end of the year, there might not be enough funds to pay your bonus at this time.
The best thing is to wait another month or so.... If it isn't paid by say, October, then call your finance detachment, tell them the situation, and run with it. If this doesn't work, and/or your chain of command can't get off their butts to do the job, you always have the option of calling your IG. They should be able to either point you in the right direction, or help solve the problem.
The other person you might want to contact is the reenlistment NCO. If there is anyone who should know what is going on with the bonus situation, it is that person.
