Hello, I am an E-5 63J I am trying to reclass to 11B, I was told I needed to retake the ASVAB which I did and now meet the requirements for 11B, now my retention NCO is saying that our unit is under "Stop Movement" Is there anything I can do!!! Please let me know! thanks. SGT "O"

You may want to confirm the official "Stop Move" orders with your unit and/or your ERB (your AEA cod should be "O".)

If you are under Stop Move, not much you can do unless you enter the BEAR Program (which 11B is not on the BEAR Program).

OK So wait! You mean I can reclass under the BEAR even if unit is in "Stop Move"? Please let me know because today I decided to reclass to 13F wich is in BEAR, however, it is not through the BEAR, The Retention NCO says he's gonna try a Vollunteer with an exception or something like that! TDY in return! I get lil upset cause I know they are just trying to keep their numbers! Now what would I need to reclass under BEAR even under Stop move? He has not started the PPW yet because I need to initiate a Security clearance! PLease Please let me know honestly if theres something I should know. TM SGT "O"

Have you ever received a bonus? If so, which "zone" was it? (How many years did you have in?)

What is your ETS? If you're in your 24-month reenlistment window, you cannot submit a voluntary reclassification request. You'll have to reenlist for Option 3, Army Training Option (if you're an initial term Soldier or if your MOS is overstrength) or you can extend under the BEAR Program and receive a bonus once graduate AIT and reenlist.

I'm not really sure what "7" means, but I'll look into it. It may be a Stop Move code.

Hey thanks for the quick response! I dont mind going TDY & return, Honestly I just want to reclass!!! I was just checking out the latest Milper messages and noticed 13F was terminated from BEAR!!! So do you think it will work the way they are trying to do it? I cant remember exactly what he said I just know it was something with "exception"! Yes, 13F will be terminated from the BEAR Program on 5 July 2007.

What your Career Counselor may be referrring to is an Exception to Policy for Option 3, Army Training Reenlistment Option (because you are a mid-career Soldier). Depending on the MOS strengths and available class seats, this request may be approved yb HRC in a day or two once the requests is sent up through RETAIN.
