Trying to see when I will get paid for the rest of my bonus.
When I enlisted I received an $8,000 bonus for college and a seasonal $3,000 bonus.
Made it to my duty station, filled out the paperwork and received $7,000, well really $5250 after taxes. I asked finance about the rest and they said it would be paid on my next anniversary.
But that was back in 2005, it is 2007, where is the rest of my money? I looked at my paperwork and all it says is "Bonus will be paid in accordance with DA instruction."
Also, I am currently deployed and will I get the money tax free?
If you are supposed to recieve more money it will be on the anniversary of when you completed AIT. Had it happen to me you just have to bring your paperwork in to finance to show you did not recieve bonus and they will investigate and pay you. I you will get payed the remaider amount spred over the years of your orignal contract. On mine I got 14,000 to sign-up and got 10,000 up front and 1,000 a year for 4 years.

You won't get it tax free. You only get it tax free if the location you enlisted/re-enlisted in was a tax exemption zone. So if I re-up in theater I am good to go for tax free. Any other place that is tax exempt (like Korea) is also good to go. No one enlisting in the Army is going to get a tax-free bonus because no one (as far as I know) visits MEPS Baghdad or MEPS Seoul before going to basic.
