If you're eligible to reenlist now and it's on your mind, go see your Career Counselor today and get things completed. It's not looking good for bonus amounts and many MOSs.
I am waiting to hear about class dates for two MOS's. Any chance this will not take effect until the end of the first week of March. I am supposed to reenlist HOPEFULLY, by the end of the week.
Also, I know you probably don't have all the details, but if we are plugged into the system, our bonus should still be in effect, correct?
Trying to get this PAO thing down.

March is what I'm hearing ... don't know a day yet. Are you waiting for the message to reenlist? If so, you may be disappointed. If you're ready now, go see your Career Counselor.
I have been hearing that bonuses were going away for about two years now, if not longer, but they always end up staying...probably will as long as we have manpower issues and a war on two fronts.

SSGGunbunny, if you remember back in May, they did go away for many MOSs in the USAR. After much complaining we got them back, but G-1's intent was obvious.
Bonuses are supposed to be a temporary fix for very specific shortages. If we have 120% 88Hs, why would you give an 88H a bonus to stay longer?
I have no RUMINT from the part-time side, but it's about that time of year.
I can tell you what you'll get if you reup now; tomorrow is anyone's guess.
Hello to Everyone... Im a PS Marine in process of shipping out and have been told i do not rate a SRB bonus...I need help/advice fast! My recruiter is telling me to wait til I ship on March 3rd to make MEPS fix my contract, but it might be too late and i will be screwed out of a $23,000 bonus. Background: 8yrs AD USMC, already completed MSO as of 22Feb 2008, the same day i went to MEPS to DEP in. The guidance counselor on that day said that i dont rate a bonus under BSSRB. However i dont fall under the qualificactions for BSSRB since it has not been 91 days past my MSO(its ony been 6 days as of 28th of Feb). He called some lady that works at ROC or HRC(dont remember which) and she said the same thing. they were quoting AR 601-210. I researched on my own that all MILPER MSGS for the last three years concerning BSSRBs specifically have stated that if you are PS and have less than 91 days separation that you would use/and qualify for the current SRB Bonus(just as if I was still considered an AD status). The MILPER MSG 07-344 is the one I pulled and found that I do qualify for a bonus in my MOS 92Y(which converted w/out training from the USMC-3043). I am in the B ZONE and for 4 years I should be receiving in my contract (as per Table 1) a $23,000 bonus for 48-59 mths. After I researched this info., I brought it to the attention of my recruiter and he said that it was good and i had something to bargain with when i go down to MEPS again to ship out on MARCH 3rd. I asked him how can I ensure that i will get the bonus if THE NEW SRB BONUSES ARE TO COME OUT AS EARLY AS SAY, MAYBE THE 1ST OF MARCH. He had no answer for me except to say that maybe MEPS will "try to help me get it on the day that i ship". With all due respect, i dont want to get SCREWED becuase he doesnt want to take the time to make a few phone calls to make sure my contract is fixed. Should I demand/insist that the recruiter take me to MEPS before the 1st of March to make sure that my contract is fixed before the new SRB MSG comes out and then they no longer offer a bonus or a much lesser bonus for my MOS? I dont want to be stressing on the day I supposedly have to ship/PCS. The recruiter said he couldnt do anything from his position and that it was a Plans and Policy issue because the AR 601-210 was conflicting with the latest BSSRB MILPER MSG(i dont see how) and also the 07-344. What do I need to do or who can i call to get this taken care of without having to piss off anyone along the way? Thanks in advance for any advice or help.

You don't qualify for MILPER Message 07-344 ... this is a "reenlistment" bonus, not an "enlistment" bonus. You have to already be in the Army for this one.
As for the BSSRB, this program expired on 31 December 2006.
M. PRIOR SERVICE AND BLUE TO GREEN APPLICANTS SKILL LEVEL ONE ONLY, WHO SELECT TRAINING OR ENLIST IN A BONUS MOS LEVELS 1-7 WILL RECEIVE THE SAME EB AMOUNT AS PAID TO NPS APPLICANTS. PS AND B2G APPLICANTS WILL RECEIVE NO OTHER INCENTIVES AND ARE SUBJECT TO RECOUPMENT PROCEDURES AS STATED ABOVE.
I EAS-ed on 1 FEB 2008 and my MSO was complete on 22 FEB 2008 (for my total 8years).
Do you have the last BSSRB MSG # that was out? And is there anything in MILPER MSG 07-335 that is specifically stating that the BSSRB program had expired on 31 December 2006 and that the msg is the new guidance in effect for BSSRB?
Since I am a former Marine and was not conditionally released from my command for the BLUE-to-GREEN program, i did not look at that because i was not part of the B2G program. I am also enlisting into the Army as a skill level 2, not skill level 1.
AR 601-280 CHAPTER FIVE(eff. 28 FEB 2006) 5–4. Broken service selective reenlistment bonus Instructions for preparation, record maintenance, financial administration, recoupment, and the use of broken service selective reenlistment bonus (BSSRB) recipients are contained in AR 601-210. The objective of the BSSRB is to increase the level of mid-career soldiers in specific skills. The bonus is offered to prior service (PS) Regular Army soldiers who were qualified in the bonus skill immediately before their discharge or release from active duty and who agree to reenter the Regular Army in that skill. The MOS designated for the BSSRB program will be announced by message from CG, HRC-Alexandria, Attn: AHRC-EPR.
5-6. Individual qualifications for a selective reenlistment bonus (4) Be qualified in an PMOS awarded under chapter 3, AR 614-200, that is, designated for an SRB as announced by HRC-Alexandria message. [B](5) Reenlist for at least 3 years. If discharged or released from active duty, reenlist within 3 months after the date of discharge or release from active duty. See BSSRB above for a break in service of more than 3 months.[B] (6) Attain eligibility and reenlist before the effective date of termination of a MOS from the SRB program. When a MOS’s bonus level is being reduced, a soldier must meet eligibility and reenlist prior to that reduction of bonus level to receive the higher level. Eligibility through changes in an existing service obligation, including an early discharge, must be accomplished before the effective date of the termination or reduction of award level in the MOS. (Exception: A soldier approved for entry into the Bonus Extension and Retraining program (BEAR) will be approved for a specific zone and will be paid the SRB level in effect at the time of agreement or at the award level in effect at the date of reenlistment, whichever is higher. The “time of agreement” is the date that the DA Form 1695 is completed after notice of approval for entry into the BEAR program. The soldier will be paid even though the MOS no longer is designated for award of an SRB at the time the soldier becomes eligible to reenlist under the BEAR program).
[B]AR 601-210 CHAPTER NINE(eff. 7 JUNE 2007) 9–9. Enlistment Program 9C, U.S. Army Incentive Enlistment Program (Enlistment Bonus, Army College Fund, Loan Repayment Program) This program is available to qualified NPS, PS, Glossary NPS, and ACASP applicants enlisting for the minimum term of enlistment, when authorized by HQDA Enlistment Incentives Message. Incentives will be offered using REQUEST, and message will be updated quarterly or as required. All enlistees must meet the prerequisites before and after enlistment per DA Pam 611–21. Primary Incentive Enlistment Options available for enlistment are available in REQUEST as offered and determined by the DCS, G–1 (DMPM). a. Under this program, enlistees may be eligible for— (1) EB. (2) SRB. (3) BSSRB. (4) ACF. (5) LRP.[B]
Does this information above make my situation seem any different now?

I have been hearing about this for a week now. I been harassing my career counselor about this issue and he continues to not give me answers. I want to know what type of Bonus this MILPER message effects? Does this effect Special Critical Skill Bonuses? Because according the amount that it shows it dropped from for 35N is not correct! According the Paragraph 9 and this is from the reenlistment calculator the bonuses posted are 10k,13k,17k,and 19.5k for E4 and it shows in the MILPER message that it dropped to 0,4k,5k,10k,and 15k from 0,5k,10k,15k,20k. I'm just curious to what this message effects and I hope this message is clear enough. Just incase I left out I'm deployed in Iraq, E4, 35N and more then likely will be in the board going process and possibly promoted after reenlistment. I also would like to know how reenlisting as a first termer and as E4 getting promoted to E5 after signing the reenlistment contract.

I think you're looking at: MILPER MESSAGE NUMBER : 08-061 ENLISTMENT BONUS (EB) PROGRAM CHANGES ...Issued: [02/29/2008]...
Those are enlistment bonuses (correct me if I'm wrong AR)...not RE-ENLISTMENT bonuses.
The numbers you first qouted ($10,000 $13,000 $17,000 $19,500) are from MILPER MESSAGE NUMBER: 07-344 and are still correct...for right now...but come Monday...???
I spose the mods would be mad if I posted the new "unofficial" SRB list because its been out for a week now. Mine dropped 3000 dollars, but thankfully is still there.
He is right though, a LOT dropped of the list and almost all dropped in amount.
