my name is sgt eric hall stationed at ft hood texas. i reenlisted back on nov 3rd, still not paid to this day! everyone else who reenlisted received their bonus in weeks if not days. i have contacted my career counselor as well as reenlistment nco, they all just raise their eyebrows and shoulders and give me answers about the "system". well now even the army has entered the technology age so how hard is it to input my information and give me what i reenlisted for. how am i supposed to convince soldiers to reenlist if i get screwed myself?
I went through the same thing a couple years ago, and pretty much got blown off when talking to retention. The only thing that saved me was that I knew a guy in finance, and shortly after talking to him, it got straightened out.
I'm not suggesting you skip your chain, but if they can't help you, go to the next level. Before creating too much of a stink though see if you can get referred to finance.
I really feel for you. It's not even funny to get your money messed with. Don't let this sour you on the Army though. We all know retention is pretty low on the food chain in the greater scheme, so don't let them get you down.

Same thing happened to me a few years ago. My wife actually did all the legwork to get mine. She got the fax number to the finance section that processes them and resubmitted the paperwork. Result: I got my bonus in less than a week. She in turn gave the info to the career counselor who used it to fix about a dozen other soldiers' bonuses. I just re-enlisted on the 20th of Nov and got my bonus on the 26th. It only takes 3 to 5 working days now. See if the Career Counselor can call someone and fix this mess. More than likely there was an audit done and that is the reason for the delay.
Must be army-wide glitch ;/ I signed my paperwork also on Nov 22 and its now what?? I asked finance and they told me its already been submitted and its processing..... It is almost xmas I want my money!!! lol
My husband reenlisted in April 2008 and is deployed. Every finance office told him 3-5 days but still nothing!!! Received a call from a commander from his battalion and told him his paperwork wasnt turned in but he was taking care of it as they spoke. Well it has been 10 days and still nothing. This is the second time this has happened to him with his bonus. I have no faith in finance or whoever handles bonuses. Talk about morale... lack there of..... more like false hope....once they go the signature and contract everything else goes on the back burner. Military Pay motto should be " Quick to take but slow to pay.!!"
