My unit is deployed right now and one of our high speed specialists who transitioned from the guard and his BASD is in 1986 claims he re-enlisted for "indef" for $75,000! He is an 88M, and has been in for longer than our 1SG, is this at all possible? Or is he full of it?

I figured this was unreasonable, but I just figured I would see if anybody on here had any insights. Thank you, and no I didn't do this just so I could call him out on it, I was just curious.

When I asked him a little more in detail about it he started giving me all sorts of different amounts of time he re-enlisted for, he finally settled on six years though. However, he still insists he recieved $75,000!

I don't know everything about this Soldier, but if he was my Soldier, I would have to bust him out before he spread it around that he received this much money and gets other Soldier's hopes up.

Unfortunately for a lot of soldiers, he already spread the word before I had a chance to ask here. A lot of soldiers are trying to talk to the re-enlistment NCO about a $75000 bonus now. I guess it will all come out in the wash. Unless, of course, they all come back claiming the same bonus!
