I was reading thru this and just wanted to be sure that I was understanding this right, there is absolutley now reenlistment bonuses?

Exactly ... As of 1 January 2008, there are absolutely no reenlistment bonuses.

Or enlistment bonuses either, I know a Recruiter that was going to reenlist and they told him to sign a statement saying he might or might not get his bonus, so he will not reenlist until this is fixed, also he mentioned that enlistmen bonuses are gone too.

Below is the statement that is being signed:

CONTINGENT BONUS ADDENDUM

"VARIOUS BONUS INCENTIVES, MUST BE AUTHORIZED BY CONGRESS AND ENACTED INTO LAW. THE AUTHORIZATION FOR VARIOUS BONUSES EXPIRES ON DECEMBER 31, 2007. CONGRESS IS CONSIDERING RENEWING THESE AUTHORIZATIONS. THESE AUTHORIZATIONS MAY BE RETROACTIVE TO JANUARY 1, 2008, OR THEY MAY TAKE EFFECT WHEN ENACTED, OR THEY MAY NOT BE ENACTED.

I UNDERSTAND THAT MY ENTITLEMENT TO A (FILL IN THE BLANK) BONUS IS CONTINGENT UPON ENACTMENT OF AUTHORITY FOR THE (FILL IN THE BLANK) BONUS PROGRAM. THE POSSIBILITY OF RECEIVING A BONUS WAS A CONSIDERATION IN MY CONTRACT DECISION. HOWEVER, IF CONGRESS FAILS TO AUTHORIZE THE (FILL IN THE BLANK) BONUS PROGRAM, MY CONTRACT TO SERVE IN THE U.S. (FILL IN THE BLANK) IS STILL VALID AND ENFORCEABLE. ANY VERBAL REPRESENTATIONS BY ANY BONUS PROFERRING PERSONNEL THAT DIFFER FROM THOSE CONTAINED IN THIS ADDENDUM ARE UNAUTHORIZED AND UNENFORCEABLE.

Wow and they have no approximate time frame as to when this may be fixed? So what happens if you sign the paper saying that when it is fixed youu may get your bonus? what is that all about?

You sign the statement above which is NOT a guarantee you'll receive a bonus. You may or MAY NOT receive a bonus.

If the bill is not authorized, there will be no bonuses paid after 31 December. Period.

Currently, Soldiers in unique situations ONLY are reenlisting and signing the above addendum; again, with no guarantee they will receive a bonus.

Army Reserve side: G-1 is not issuing bonus control numbers, so any contract we do will have none. No BCN=no bonus; there are no tentative agreements currently for us.

If you can wait to reup, wait. Extend if you need to and can.

If you have to reup without any incentive, do so for the shortest period available.
