AR I would have re-enlisted under you <---- Side note. All I can say is they have already started taking the bonuses away if you are state side. Myself and another co-soldier re-enlisted a week apart both for 3 years and no money, the money is going to bonuses downrange which I can totally understand!! Oh well got money the first time and a school to boot with it so I'm happy.
I did upset the Retention NCO when I stated I would not re-enlist on the last working day of the month. Simply because I did not want to and the way I wanted to re-enlist I needed to make a few phone calls.. Which I really wanted to re-enlist on the door step to the Commanding Generals house. Is that really distastful? I mean he just got back from Iraq, surely he wanted to be left alone but I just wanted his door step. I would feel honored oh well I did the typical with the dog thing so I'm happy.

A Guidance Counselor (79R) is a recruiter with an ASI working at MEPS. A Career Counselor (79S) works at the battalion level and higher.

A unit commander is assigned a mission each FY and the Career Counselor assumes responsibility for this mission ... nothing happens if the Career Counselors cannot reenlist enough Soldiers each year (but they should lose their SDAP)

Nah, we have NOTHING to do with USAREC. We are assigned to battalions and brigades.
