I am a reserve soldier and also a MILTECH. I need to know the current status of bonus for a MILTECH: do we qualify to get a bonus?and if so, how do we get the bonus?

NO, unless you reenlist in Kwuait, Afghanistan or Iraq an MILTECH is not eligible for a bonus. EMAIL yoiur congressional representative!

You can get a bonus if you have less than 16 years (based off your PEBD) if you are deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, or Kuwait (as 1SG2/270 stated).

Curious, but why would one contact their congressional representative for this?

We (MILTECH's) need to contact our Congressmen to get policy/legislation changed so we can receive our enlistment bonuses. The regulation doesn't even mention accessions bonuses and they're saying we can't get those either. They really have us grabbing our ankles.

What other avenues have you tried to get bonuses for MILTECHs? Why simply contact a congressman/woman?

Do you even know if this is a policy or law?
