My Career Counselor said that the money is about to go away because the Army has went way over budget on this program already. Anybody on here heard this also, and if so when?
When I signed the contract yesterday, my CC congratulated me because the word through the pipeline is that major changes are about to happen. He didn't say if it would be good or bad, just that "something" would happen.
Yea well, I still have 9 more days before I am in my C zone and eligible for $33,500 for 5 more years. SO I got my fingers, toes, arms, legs, and eyes crossed, hoping the money holds out for 9 more days.
Major changes are about to happen (wasn't give specifics), but whatever the changes, if you're ready to reenlist and want a nice sized bonus, see your Career Counselor TODAY!
I wonder why the Army maybe thinking of decreasing their REenlistment bonuses? A message came out yesterday late that Congress is requesting 20Billion for REtention bonuses, and initial entry bonuses for the Army and Marines. That wierd..both stories contradict each other.
Does anybody have better info, atleast more detailed, on the request congress put in for?

What happens when you have been trying to reenlist since NOVEMBER and every time a post we will take comes available it takes FOREVER to get reenlistment NCOs to act, by that time its gone. So far were out Hunter, Leanord Wood, and at this rate twice for Japan.

ArmyHusband, what is your WIFE doing to get her reenlistment accomplished? Career Counselors and Reenlistment NCOs take mainly with the service member.
Is she getting her chain of command involved? Was any of this brought up to her 1SG or CSM? If you're not getting the retention support you deserve, don't just sit back and take it, be more proactive and getting it done.
I tried calling SFC Williams the other day with no luck. You need to stop dealing with Reenlistment NCOs that can't doing anything for you and see an actual badgr wearing Career Counselor. Make them show you were an assignment was offered.
To be totally honest with you, whomever you are talking to you is feeding you lines ... your wife is not even "ELIGIBLE" in the RETAIN system to see an assignment.
She got the 1sgt involved but he would only call the BN NCO. Shes going to request to use the open door policy and see the group CSM when they get back Tuesday. Can you clear up what you mean by shes not showing up as eligible in RETAIN? We were talking about it, and she said it feels like theyre just trying to run her out.

Prepared in RETAIN means your information has been placed in the Career Counselor's system, verified and hence you can check reenlistment options/assignments.
Your wife is currently "Not Eligible" in the system so you cannot view assignments for your wife. Not sure why you're being offered assignments when assignments can't be offered to your wife.
Ask your Career Counselor to see what all assignments are available in the RETAIN system.
I hate to say but is sounds to me like were just being jerked around then. I just heard through the grapevine that her unit may be coming down on orders to Iraq. Could this have something to do with it? Shes the only trained 92A in the unit. Are they trying to put it off until they get orders and stop loss her? And if thats the case what can be done?
What can we do, we really feel at a loss here. What can we do? It feels like no one wants to do anything.

Armyhusband, what needs to happen is your wife (the service member) should be doing something about this, its NOT YOUR JOB and its out of you hands...let your wife use her chain of command

OK, maybe I should rephrase it and ask what can she do. Im just trying to get as much information as I can to pass along to her, and to help her, and us, get a desireable outcome. I am the type that likes to learn so I can help others.
Its just frustrating, and when I have a problem, I try to get the information to solve the problem. Or in this case, pass the information along to her.
USSoldier, I understand that it is out of my hands, but I do not believe that it doesn't mean I can't be involved. I feel this is a descision we can make together. Its a life changing event that we should have some lever of control over. Its not like a deployment or something you can't control. You have options, you should be allowen to use them and not get rolled over like this.
