How long does it take for a SRB bonus to be paid? My rention NCO said it should be in within a week and DFAS says it takes 30-45 days. Who is right? What is the process? does rention NCO fax a copy of the enlistment?

I was told 7 to 10 to 14 days. I got mine in about 10, the day after payday.

I've had a few Soldiers receive their bonus 4 days after reenlisting. I was surprised; but generally within 14 days. If it's longer than one month, go back and see your Career Counselor / Reenlistment NCO (something went wrong).

How it works-
When you reenlist, the Career Counselor "Confirms" your contract in RETAIN and this "talks" with the finance system which pays the bonus.

If there is delay, the computers are picking up something that is not right and will shoot a message to HRC for resolution.

The 30-45 day is with the OLD DFAS system.

I re-enlisted in late May and had my bonus in the bank by mid June. Make sure you keep an eye on how much you are taxed and whether it has an impact on your federal and state taxes. I got a $300 deduction in pay when my bonus came in. Still trying to work on that with finance. Confused

I re-enlisted in April and those idiots got me my bonus in late June. Plus they overpaid me by over 11,000 dollars (9422 after taxes) which I promptly told them about. They disagreed, of course, stating that I didn't know what I was talking about. So I shoved it into a money market account and am collecting 5.25 percent on it every month that they are too stupid to take it back.
