I just discovered this forum discussion a few days ago... I read all the posts to get caught up with what you are doing. I am going through the same thing. On April 15th, I was told it would be 45 working days to receive my bonus, and you know the rest of the story. I was in Afg when all this went down and my wife and I contracted (and closed)on a house 30k more expensive than previously planned in anticipation of the money. So, our budget is extremely tight right now. Well, I have been through 2 congressmen in the last 2 months. The first was Rep Jack Kingston back in the beginning of June, his office basically did a check to see what was going on and told us all about the problem with the DOD instruction regarding payment before CSRB period begins. His office didn't even attempt to nudge Michael Dominguez in the right direction. Next, I contacted the office of Sen Saxby Chambliss and was put in contact with his military liaison (a Major) who did the same thing. He found out about the letter of exception sitting on the desk at the DOD and just last week told me it was still there awaiting approval. Anyway, now I am in contact with a political consultant from my area who knows and/or has worked for all the local politicians. He heard of my case and offered to take it to Jack Kingston, whom we suspect has not been informed by his office of the problem, to get him personally involved. This guy is known as a "bulldog" in the political arena, so I have high hopes that he can get people moving. Just wanted to throw my 2 cents into the discussion. Hope this helps.

Maybe Rep. Kingston can stir it up...he is up for re-election this year isn't he???
Don't know about going to the press just yet...our military and our beloved country get enough bad press as it is!

It will also work the same if the CSRB never gets the signature for exemption and therefore isn't paid. From what I gather, most are like my husband and have at least two years before year 16.

I got a letter back from the office of Jeff Miller Congressman today with a letter that was sent to that office from a Col in Army G-1 that stated why we havn't been paid yet and that they were "working aggressivly" to get it paid. Apparently thats it (good enough answer for them). Im unimpressed I thaought that the inquiry would continue up the chain to the Sec Def office where the process is held up but I guess not. I emailed the veterains affairs and millitary guy for Hon Jeff Miller and he basicly said thats it we cant do anything else unless you don't get paid. Oh and I think the G-1 people are really pissed at me now but I expected this to end with Sec Def not G-11

Oops i meant G-1 not G-11..... and I have 4 yrs till i hit 16 but if your indef isnt just a matter of getting paperwork signed to get out. You of course would have to pay back some of your bonus though.

No, the last bonus my husband, and everyone that is indef and hoping the CSRB comes thru, received carried him to year 16. There would be no portion to recoup.

Has anyone heard anything new lately? Is this going to turn into a "next FY" thing? WTF?

I called up the military/veterans affairs guy that is investigating for my state rep. because of the letter I got that made it sound like the investigation was going to stop at G-1. He said that is not the case that this is just the beginning of the investigation and that Sec of the Army already knows about. He also said that paperwork at the Sec Def level could be any number of problems. One thing he mentioned (and this is all speculation who knows whats really going on, not trying to start rumors) is that someone could be delaying until the start of the fiscal year for money. Who knows? Other than that nothing new.
