I was looking at the website and my branch letter and it shows that MILPER message 08-039 is still active. Is this so? my career counselor seems to not know anything about it.

If it does do I qualify? I am a SFC 35M with just over TAFS. but they way I read it I am wondering if the extension combination means I can go indef and qualify or extend to 14 TAFS then go indef. Am I on the right track? IF so what do i need to tell my retention to get this going?

Also are the payments still being held up until current contracts are fulfilled? How long does the approval process normally take once the application is submitted?

This has nothing to do with me. But this whole situation is really messed up. How can they do this? Maybe write Lou Dobbs on Cnn. People seem to jump when he gets on there buts...

Ummm, you have to meet the TAFS now to qualify for the CSRB. They're trying to entice the E-6's, who are paid less money, to stay in.

That seems odd since i read the previous 15 pages after i wrote this and that doesnt appear correct. there are several instances where soldiers wrote in that they extended to meet the requirement in conjunction with the csrb reenlistment

According to the chart on this website, http://armyreenlistment.com/csrb.htm , and the information you gave "I am a SFC 35 M with just over 10 TAFS", you do not qualify for the CSRB. It is because you don't have enough time in. The previous pages are from those that do meet the TAFS and were already under the indefinite obligation.

I don't think they're gonna let you extend 4 years and then sign a CSRB for 6 years to carry you to 20. These soldiers are already at the correct TAFS.

Well, once again I am not the big winner in the Powerball...funny it took less time to pass the $700 billion bailout...maybe email Hannity or Dick Morris?
