It wouldn't be on this LES, but the next EOM one...four more days...

Well everyone, we still have a couple days but I don't think we are going to see results. I have been in contact with my congressman's office about this issue and let them know that there was a tentative payment date and that I didn't want to start any fires yet. The veterans and military guy in the office told me to get him anything I can about this if it doesn't work out so if you all are interested I would be happy to be CC'd on your letters and I can forward them all to him. Maybe a handfull of letters will prompt some reaction. As for sending it to the press, I'm not sure if that is the appropriate route just yet. While the 20th is dicking us around there is nothing illegal happening so far everything that's been going on has been to get us 38 an exception to policy, not right a wrong that we have endured. This is no fun, but it's not exactly unfair either.

Come Thursday @16:00 I’m sending my email to my representative. Since we all know Womack has about as much integrity as OJ Simpson we can all expect not to see that money any time soon, now a few of my friends are going to have some hard times because they spent the money before they had it(smart wasn’t it). There nothing illegal about this but there is ethical values that were disregarded. I hope I’m wrong and we get paid in a short time. But I don’t know if HRC, G-1, DOD and US government will do the right thing and pay us. I hope some bodies source put out some new and encouraging information.

Hopefully this will all be resolved this week. I know a few people who have gotten screwed by "counting their chickens before they hatch", I haven't done that yet, but I did have to buy a new family truckster...if I had my bonus on time I could have gotten a few more buttons and gadgets...I am trying to be optimistic about the whole matter. It did kinda screw up our summer plans...I hope for all those involved that this will be settled this week...

Don't you get the feeling that they are only telling people what they want to hear? This has been going on long enough. They have had plenty of time to fix the problem or find a pair of walnuts and let the 38 techs, that have been wandering and waiting for months, know that the money isn't coming.

According to information that I received from Retention at Redstone Arsenal, if the CSRB does not come through then soldiers that reenlisted to meet the obligations can pull back their reenlistments. I will probably leave if it doesn't come through...just on principle. It would have been really easy for the chain of command to blast out a weekly update...even if the update only noted "no new information at this time". And they say they don't know why EOD retention is so bad. I do not think that most people get out for more money, although that helps; I think most get out for jobs with organizations that respect and appreciate them.

Ok, CSRB memo has not been signed yet. Confidence is abundant that the memo will be signed, but no "official" release date yet.

FYI. There are many congressionals initiated over this and doesn't seem to be speedy things along any.

For what it is worth, I sent my letter off tonight. I sent it to my congressman, Jeff Miller and also to the Florida senators.
In case any of you need it, here are the links to writing your representative and your senators:
