I March of 2003, I was a title 32 AGR soldier in the Missouri Army National Guard. I was mobilized (under Title 10 Federal Active Duty) for Iraq on March 15th of 2003. In April of 2004 (while still in Iraq) I had to reenlist to keep my Title 32 AGR job when I returned from Iraq.

At the time, I didn't think I qualified for a reenlistment bonus so I didn't ask. Since then, several other people have told me I should have received a bonus for reenlisting in a combat zone. Is this true? I was required to do a 6 year reenlistment. I was a 92Y30 E-6 at the time of reenlistment.

My PEBD is 88APR27. My ETS date is 11MAR31. Current years of service is 19 with no breaks.

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

So after four years you're inquiring about a bonus? Why so long?

I'm not sure of the AGR bonus rules/policy (and MANY things change in four years), but we do have resident reserve/national guard members in this community that should be along to provide better assistance.

I waited so long because it came up in casual conversation during TDY last week. Up to that point, I had always assumed I wasn't eligible.

But, a SFC that I was talking to was adamantly telling me that I should of received on. He says the kicker in the issue is the fact that I was title 10 at the time of the re-enlistment. I don't know a dang thing about bonuses and that is why I came here. In the past, AGR personnel were not eligable for reenlistment bonuses but that is when we were under Title 32.

So, I figured I would inquire about it. Better late than never right?
