My husband is currently waiting to hear back from his retention officer about papers submitted for "duty station of choice". He told my husband however that in July the Army will be stopping all reenlistment bonuses.

Is this true?

Now the paper work has been in transit, so to speak for a bit now, if it does not come back on Monday (the 30th) but rather on Tuesday the first, and say we get our duty station of choice, do we have any options to wait it out or have the paperwork backdated to receive an enlistment bonus?

BTW my husband is 92F and is currently deployed.

Thank you for your time, this is my husbands first potential re-up so we are both novices.

As long as there is a war going on and our Soldiers are deployed, the deployed bonus will not go away ... however, it may be reduced.

As the Army (as a whole) begins to accomplish its yearly goals, bonuses should be reduced.

BTW, your husband is probably talking with a Reenlistment NCO or Career Counselor. The "Retention Officer" is the just a title for the unit command by virtue of title alone.
