SSG Ortiz, My husband is prior service, his window opens in January 08, his MOS is 92f, E-5(p), BASD is 01/31/81, ETS 01/03/10. What would he mostly like receive as a bonus, and also would he qualify for a oconus assignment, such as Alaska if he reenlists for 6 years? He has over 13 years active. Thank you for your time.
The BASD is incorrect. He would have reach his retention control point already and would not be able to serve. This may be his PEBD.
As for a reenlistment option, since he is over 10 years, he would only be able to reenlist for Option 1, Regular Army (needs of the Army). When you have over 10 years of active service, your only option is Option 1.
Now for the bonus - I would need the correct BASD for this, but if your husband currently has over 13 years of active service and a C Zone bonus is paid up to the 16th year of service and your husband ETS is 2010 AND to receive a bonus, you'd need at least 12 months of additionally obligated service (AOS), it doesn't appear your husband would receive a bonus (unless he was deployed).
Sorry Toya07. That BASD (19941019) doesn't help him with his reenlistment options. Like ArmyReenlistment mentioned, the only reenlistment option that your husband will get is option 1 (needs of the Army). If your husband is deployed (OIF/OEF) he could get a "C" zone SRB of $2500 for adding 9 months of AOS. If he is not deployed then he will not receive a reup bonus.
