dont do it..im telling you. the career counselors are scammers and once they have you they will treat you like crap if anything goes wrong, point fingers. string you along..the works. if you ask them to hold up their end of the bargain, such as paying your bonus in a timely fashion or doing the paperwork properly so it gets processed correctly, look for a hard time, or for them to use their rank against you. this has been the worst experience in my 5 yr career and i will never reenlist ever again or advise anyone to reenlist. read the fine print! this just proves they could care less and they are all talk!!! still no bonus and i get a bunch of jargon and political bs instead, do not reenlist!!

What is this?? Bitch about the Army day. So you got screwed. That sucks and all but it don’t mean that all of it is bad. I hate how one bad thing happens to someone and it’s the whole army that is messed up. Do you think that a guy at a civ job gets dicked and blames the whole company he works at?? More then likely no. He blames the guy that did it. If you knew how many times I have been screwed you would not bitch. Here is an ideal”Cry me a river, build a bridge and get over it.”

Hey, I'm not going to lie, I didn't really get EVERYTHING that I wanted. Thanks to a slight misunderstanding and with some help from a retarded chain of command, I get to spend the next year and a half ata a different post than my wife, despite being appropriately enrolled inn the MACP and JD.

But if YOU feel screwed... sorry. Get out and start new. Good luck.

How is your Career Counselor a scammer? (Don't try to lump all Career Counselors together)

I can understand your frustration when it comes to your reenlistment bonus; who wouldn't be frustrated? You reenlisted nearly two months ago and didn't receive your bonus yet.

Let me ask you a few questions:
Who have you spoken with regarding your situation? Just a Reenlistment NCO and/or your Battalaion Career Counselor?

What were told was the hold up regarding your bonus? Be spedific.

Have you ever considered talking with someone else about the bonus situation? Your 1SG or CSM? (The Battalion CSM is your Battalion Career Counselor's boss ... he's his rater for NCOERs)

What have YOU done, besides complain, about your bonus?

After looking into your bonus situation, it seems your Career Counselor messed up and used the wrong MILPER Message when confirming your reenlistment. (How can this happen? ... a new bonus message came out after you were locked in for your assignment, but two days before your reenlistment; your Career Counselor failed to update this in the confirmation process.)

I've emailed the 1STCAV Retention Operations NCO about your situation, so you can expect resolution very quickly.

***UPDATE: Just a few minutes (literally) after emailing your case to above, I (as well as you) received an apologetic reply that stated a Case Management System (CMS) case was opened and DFAS should process your bonus payment VERY SHORTLY.

Still think Career Counselors are "scammers"?

This post has been deleted due to the fact that the person portrayed on this website as "ArmySlaveHooah" is, in fact, an impostor.

I think that one of the true measures of leadership is how mistakes are handled.

Why wouldn't you want to re-up with outstanding NCOs like these in our ranks?!?

Just trying to take care of a Soldier ... and show others that Career Counselors are NOT scammers. (Besides, we never get to actually touch any of the bonus money ... hard to be a scammer if this doesn't happen!)
