Seems the Army is looking to increase its numbers very soon. The bonus cap for most MOSs is now $22,500.

https://perscomnd04.army.mil/MILPERmsgs.nsf/All+Documents/06-007?OpenDocument

"MULTIPLIERS ARE INCREASED 0.5 FOR SOLDIERS WITH AN ETS BETWEEN 6 JANUARY 2006 AND 30 SEPTEMBER 2006 (TO INCLUDE INCLUSIVE DATES) AND 1.5 FOR SOLDIERS WITH AN ETS BETWEEN 1 OCTOBER 2006 AND 30 SEPTEMBER 2007 (TO INCLUDE INCLUSIVE DATES)."

THE CAP AND MULTIPLIER INCREASES ARE IN ADDITION TO THE CAPS AND MULTIPLIERS IN EFFECT UNDER CURRENT SRB MESSAGES AT THE TIME OF REENLISTMENT. AS AN EXAMPLE, A SOLDIER IN THE GRADE OF E-4 WITH A CONTRACTUAL ETS BETWEEN 1 OCTOBER 2006 AND 30 SEPTEMBER 2007 IS ENTITLED TO A 1.5A MULTIPLIER AND THEIR SRB IS CAPPED AT $10,000. THEIR NEW MULTIPLIER IS 3.0A WITH A NEW CAP OF $17,500.

Sorry, at the current time, active duty Soldiers must have less than 14 years active federal service to qualify for a bonus.

You will likely have to wait 90 days after ETS to do a prior service enlistment. If you have previously received a bonus in the Reserves, you will likely not be eligable for an enlistment bonus. What MOSs are availble in your area will also determine if you can get a bonus.

You will have to enlist before you apply for AGR (unless for some strange reason they put you in the IRR, PM me with your name and I can check). If you get a bonus and change MOS as part of your AGR appointment (likely), you will have to pay that bonus back.

If you go AGR, you will probably have to be a 79R (recruiter).

You have to do a concurrent enlistment into the AGR system. You cannot go AGR while in RA. You may however, go for a AC/RC tour (Talk to your career Counselor for more details). If that does not pan out try extending to see if anything happens with the AGR.

What is your Stop Loss ETS? You are are entitled to the increase. Have your Career Couselor look at HQDA Message 06-002 (in their RETAIN system)

To reenlist for options (movement or training) you'll have to wait until you are within 18-months from ETS.

Your MOS as a SPC ONLY has a "1A" bonus. Reenlisting for more years DOES increse your bonus.
